The Story behind us
Most really good stories have a very simple beginning. Our grandfather Walter Kroneisl Senior and his wife Olga built the Linzerhaus in 1961. Since the opening, the guesthouse was managed with a great deal of commitment and even more passion by our grandmother Olga, until she turned her attention to her own small family. From that time on, leaseholders looked after the Linzerhaus. In 1984, Walter Kroneisl Junior took on the guesthouse and built up the hotel to 50 beds. From 1984 to 1989, Olga and her son Walter then managed the Linzerhaus as a half-board establishment.
However, Walter Kroneisl Junior was also a real sporting ace and between 1981 and 1985 he collected eight World Champion and six European Championship titles, as well as being five-time overall World Cup winner in the Skibob event. He also successfully defended his World Champion title in the downhill event on three occasions between 1987 and 1989.
From winter 1989 up until the time of the Corona virus pandemic, this well-managed business was once again leased. Afterward, Walter's daughter Pia continued to run the guesthouse for three more winters with the same dedication that had already defined the Linzerhaus. But then it was time to write a completely new chapter in the history of the Linzerhaus. Sometimes, you have to say goodbye to something good to make room for something even greater and better. And so the new construction began and the old building made way for the new Linzerhaus-Suites – paving the way for a future full of new opportunities and fresh ideas.
Today, Linzerhaus-Suites shines in modern splendor, ready to welcome you with casual comfort and warm hospitality. Pia is now at your service as the manager of Linzerhaus-Suites and continues to run the house with the same passion.
And we would like to head out on our new path with you!
